Title: Modern Worship Leader

Position: Part-Time 20-hours, non-exempt

Reporting to: Senior Pastor


Overview:

Provide leadership to modern worship ministries of First United Methodist Church so the church can make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.


Contemporary Worship Leadership

  • Develop meaningful relationships with the people of First United Methodist Church.
  • Engage the congregation with a mix of current and well-known congregational songs with a style that stays true to current trends in popular music including utilizing a variety of instruments and arrangements as well as leading the congregation in prayers, Bible reading, giving greetings or instructions.
  • Identify, recruit and empower new persons who are gifted and whom God may be calling to serve in the modern worship band.
  • Lead an efficient, well-organized, and positive weekly band experience that builds the team both spiritually and musically by providing weekly schedules, recordings of music, and chord charts for all team members through Planning Center Online, as well as communicate regularly to build a relationship of trust.
  • Provide support and oversight for the Impact Student Ministry worship team as needed.
  • Lead other worship services when needed such as funerals and special worship services. Attendance is required on Easter and Christmas Eve.
  • Import weekly worship songs and coordinate with other worship staff to create weekly ProPresenter slideshow.
  • Produce content for online worship as needed.


Administration

  • Manage the modern worship ministry budget.
  • Manage modern worship subscription and licensing accounts including Praise Charts and CCLI. 
  • Oversee, schedule, and plan all modern worship elements in conjunction with the Senior Pastor.
  • Participate in regular church staff meetings, worship planning, and church leadership meetings as available. Attendance is required at bi-annual all-staff meetings.
  • Manage and organize all modern worship equipment.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Bible and a commitment to Wesleyan theology.
  • A desire to see people new to faith come to Know Christ, Grow together, and Go serve the world.
  • Exceptional musical ability in guitar and/or piano, vocals, and ability to creatively arrange music.
  • A self-starter, committed to excellence, preferred experience recruiting, training, and empowering volunteers for ministry.
  • Exceptional relational skills.

Title: Custodian

Position: Part-Time 20-hours, non-exempt

Reporting to: Facility Maintenance Manager


Overview:

The Church Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming

environment in the church building. This role includes regular cleaning of key areas, periodic

deep cleaning of additional spaces, and ensuring the facility is well-maintained for worship

services, meetings, community groups and events.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean church facilities by performing weekly duties as described in the cleaning schedule and daily spot cleaning in all public areas of the building including bathrooms, sanctuary, kitchen and classrooms
  • Work with Facility Manager and church staff as needed to ensure all areas are cleaned and stocked with necessary items.
  •  Observe proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructions.
  • Take inventory of cleaners and other supplies and submit requests when items need to be replenished
  • Report any issues or maintenance needs to the Facility Maintenance Manager 
  • Maintain a clean, organized custodian closet and equipment 


Qualifications

  • Experience in custodial or cleaning services preferred
  •  Attention to detail and ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Physical ability to lift and move objects (up to 25lbs.) perform manual labor and stand for extended periods of time
  • Dependable, punctual and trustworthy
  • Commitment to maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment in alignment with the church’s mission
  • Flexibility to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the church
  • Evenings (8:00pm and later) and weekend availability strongly preferred
  • Employment contingent on successful background check 

ADA Compliance & Physical Requirements

To perform the essential functions of this position, the candidate must be able to:

  • Physical Stamina: Stand and walk for the duration of a 4-hour shift; frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to clean low and high surfaces.
  • Lifting: Regularly lift and carry up to 25 lbs (e.g., trash bags, mop buckets, or vacuum cleaners) and occasionally move heavier items like folding tables or chairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Use hands and arms to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers) and handle cleaning tools (mops, rags, spray bottles).
  • Visual/Sensory: Distinguish between color-coded cleaning supplies and identify areas requiring attention (dirt, spills, or damage).
  • Environment: Work safely around cleaning chemicals and in various temperatures; the role involves exposure to dust, odors, and common allergens.
  • Communication: Understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English for safety protocols and cleaning schedules.
