Week of May 6th

Daily Prayer: Dear God, help my heart be moved by the stories of early Christians and modern-day believers alike who have reached across cultural divides to spread the love of Christ. I want to draw close to you, so that I can embody the generous spirit of Christianity, so I can be a witness to the transformative power of the Gospel in your community and to the ends of the earth. Amen.

Day 1: Embracing Generosity Across Borders
Reading: Acts 1:8
Reflection: In the sermon, we are reminded of the expansive mission Jesus gave to His followers, reaching beyond familiar territories to the ends of the earth. Today, consider the scope of your own generosity. Are you reaching out beyond your immediate community to make a difference? How can you embody Christ's command to be His witness in both local and global contexts?

Day 2: Understanding Cultural Context in Faith
Reading: Acts 15:6-11
Reflection: Reflect on the early church's challenge of integrating diverse cultures into one faith community. Like Peter, recognize the purity of heart that comes through faith, not adherence to cultural laws. How can you apply this principle to welcome and include those from different backgrounds in your faith community?

Day 3: The Power of Inward Change
Reading: Romans 2:28-29
Reflection: The sermon touches on the concept of inward change over outward conformity. Meditate on what it means to be a true believer inwardly, transformed by the Spirit rather than just by following external codes. In what ways does your life reflect an inner transformation?

--

Day 4: Grace Over Legalism
Reading: Acts 15:19-21
Reflection: James offers a solution that balances cultural sensitivity with grace. Consider the 'burdens' you may unintentionally place on others in your faith community. Are there ways you can extend grace and lighten the load for those seeking God?

Day 5: Being Part of a Global Church
Reading: Matthew 28:19-20
Reflection: The sermon encourages us to consider our role in the global church. Reflect on the Great Commission and your part in it. How can you support global missions and live out your faith in a way that reaches across continents?
